Pennsdale, Pa. — A popular women’s clothing retailer will open next year at the Lycoming Crossing shopping center in Muncy.
Maurices is set to open at the former Five Below store, which moved to a new space next door in October. Signage for the clothing retailer went up last week on the storefront windows, which showed an expected opening timeframe of March 2025. Muncy Township secretary Gwen Pidcoe said the space is currently being remodeled. She did not provide an opening date.
Maurices was previously at Lycoming Mall until the mall’s closing in February 2023. The retailer currently has more than 900 locations in the United States and Canada. Based in Duluth, Minnesota, the first store opened there in 1931. Maurices, which markets clothing to women ages 25 and over, is known for its inclusive sizing, offering sizes 0 to 24, according to its website.
Other locations in the region include a store at the Susquehanna Valley Mall near Selinsgrove, one in Bloomsburg on Lunger Drive, and one at Nittany Mall in State College.
In other Lycoming Crossing news, a new space was built between Dick’s Sporting Goods and the former Five Below space to accommodate a larger Five Below store format. The new Five Below opened on Oct. 25. Additionally, a new nail shop MM Nail Spa opened in October in the small strip mall in the Lycoming Crossing complex. The shop is owned by John and Amy Tran, who formerly owned Future Nails on East Third Street in Loyalsock Township.
